Get Involved

The Washington University Black Alumni Council seeks to unite black alumni with each other and deepen overall university engagement. No matter where you are located geographically, you can participate in and support the Black Alumni Council—there are many ways to get involved.

Join a Committee

All alumni in St. Louis are invited to join one of three committees. For more information on how to join, email WUBAC@wustl.edu.

Alumni Student Relations Committee:
The Alumni Student Relations Committee serves an ambassadorial body to our undergraduate and graduate students. The committee works closely with student organizations such as the Association of Black Students, the Black Senior Alliance, the Black Graduate Council, and the National Society of Black Engineers, to provide social, mentoring, and networking opportunities to our students throughout the academic year.

Community Outreach Committee:
The Community Outreach Committee will develop events to engage Washington University alumni in programs which serve both Washington University as well as the local community. University partners may include the College Prep Program and the Gephardt Institute for Civic and Community Engagement. The committee will work closely with the Networking & Social Events committee to develop seminars and programs for the larger St. Louis African American community.

Networking and Social Events Committee:
The Networking and Social Events Committee will plan events and programs to strengthen the community of Washington University black alumni.
