Regional Challenges

​We are immensely grateful to our donors for providing the following challenges.

The Conner Asia Challenge
David Conner, AB '74, has established a $250,000 challenge to encourage new and increased gifts from alumni, parents, and friends of Washington University who reside in Asia.

Frick San Francisco Bay Area Challenge
Robert, BS '60, MBA '62, and Barbara Frick have established a $500,000 challenge to encourage Bay-area Washington University supporters to establish or increase their giving to the Annual Fund.

The Hacker Michigan Challenge
Ray, AB '57, and Anita Hacker have established a challenge in which first-time scholarship gifts are matched 3:1 and multi-year pledges and increased scholarship gifts are matched 2:1.

The Lui Family Scholarship Challenge for Hong Kong
Alice Lui, AB '89, has established a $50,000 challenge to encourage new and increased gifts from alumni, parents, and friends of Washington University who reside in Hong Kong.

San Francisco Eliot Society Challenge
John Dains, BSBA '68, and Robert Frick, BS '60, MBA '62, have established a challenge for Washington University alumni ages 45 or younger in the Bay area to join the Eliot Society with an Annual Fund gift of only $500.

The Smith Family Louisville Challenge
Anne and Gary Smith, parents of two current Washington University graduate students, have established a $100,000 challenge to inspire fellow parents, alumni, and friends in the Louisville area to increase their support for Leading Together. The Smith Family Challenge will continue until the conclusion of the campaign on June 30, 2018 or until the challenge is met.

The Sumers New York Scholarship Challenge
Gary Sumers, AB '75, has established a $3 million challenge to encourage alumni, parents, and friends living in Greater New York to support need-based undergraduate scholarships.
