The Parents Council mission
The Parents Council, established in 1974, works to create an engaged and supportive parent community by:
- Broadening parents’ knowledge and understanding of the university
- Encouraging parents to share feedback and provide valuable insights and perspectives
- Expanding the professional networks available to students and alumni
- Fostering connections among engaged WashU families
- Promoting Washington University within their spheres of influence
- Providing strong philanthropic support
Parents Council philanthropy
As members of Parents Council, you are leaders in the WashU community, and your philanthropic support is a powerful example of your impact. Last year, Parents Council members contributed nearly $12 million to support the university and its mission.
During the current academic year, many Parents Council members have made gifts, signed gift agreements, or are fulfilling multi-year commitments to Washington University. We thank you for your tremendous support and for the generosity you inspire in other parents and the WashU community!
We appreciate that many of you are still considering your gift to Washington University, and encourage you to speak with a member of the Parent Engagement & Advancement team about where you want to make an impact.
Thank you once again for all you do for Washington University to foster an exceptional learning environment for all students.
