As we plan for the spring Reunion celebrations, our priority is to ensure that all attendees (Reunion celebrants, guests, and Washington University staff) are safe and healthy. Although distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine has begun, there is still uncertainty as to when it will be widely available. With that in mind and in consultation with public health experts, we have made the difficult decision to cancel in-person Reunion celebrations.

We look forward to Reunion Weekend each year, so we share your disappointment in this change of plans. However, your health and safety remain our top priority. Together, we can contribute to protecting the well-being of the Washington University community.

In lieu of celebrating in person in April 2021, we look forward to celebrating with you virtually! Keep an eye out for communication from your classmates and the WashU Alumni Relations team about:

  • virtual toasts and happy hours,
  • online lectures, tours, and school updates,
  • ways to connect with classmates,
  • and much more!

You can make your voice heard on virtual Reunion event preferences by filling out our short Reunion survey. It only takes about two minutes, and your answers will be vital in helping us make decisions about your class events. You can also let us know if you are interested in supporting Reunion activities by joining the Reunion Class Gift Committee or Reunion Committee. We ask that you respond by January 15, 2021.

Plans for future in-person events at WashU are currently on hold, but as soon as we know when we can welcome our alumni back to campus to celebrate safely we will let all members of 2021 Reunion classes know. To connect with WashU alumni in the meantime, we encourage you to visit our Virtual Connections and Digital Resources website for a list of virtual events.

To learn about the university’s response to COVID-19 and how we are trying to reduce the risk to our community and to the region, please visit the Washington University Emergency Management website.

We appreciate your flexibility and understanding. If you have questions or concerns, please contact the Office of Alumni Relations at alumnireunions@wustl.edu or 866-988-7477.
