Alumni volunteers
Students get a warm Washington U. welcome from these enthusiastic alumni!
Because we realize that your journey to becoming an alumna or alumnus of Washington University lasts a very short four years, the Alumni Association seeks to engage students on every level. Our mission is to familiarize students with the many resources available to them through the Alumni Association.

For more information about any of these opportunities, please email the Alumni Association or call (314) 935-6503.

Freshman Class

Freshman year is an exciting time of transition and growth. Whether you came to the campus from St. Louis or from Singapore, the Alumni Association will be on the scene at freshman Move-in Day (August 21, 2014), ready to welcome you to campus! Alumni Association staff and alumni volunteers station themselves in the Freshman Welcome Tent and provide students and parents alike with refreshments and information on getting involved with the Alumni Association.

The annual Legacy Luncheon, hosted by the Alumni Association on Move-In Day, is an event for all freshmen whose parents are alumni.

All freshmen can get involved with the Alumni Association through the Student Alumni Association, the Alumni Career Externship Program and the Reunion Internship Program, all described above.

Sophomore Class

Sophomore year is a time when many students have settled into their academic career at Washington University and begin to focus on a specific major and/or career path. The Alumni Association offers many supplementary resources for sophomores who are in the process of declaring their major. Through the Alumni Association Directory students can browse alumni who have opted to be contacted by students. Connecting with and reaching out to our alumni is a wonderful way to get your questions answered by alumni who are in a specific field of work or to speak with alumni who selected the major you are considering.

All sophomores can get involved with the Alumni Association through the Student Alumni Association, the Alumni Career Externship Program and the Reunion Internship Program.

Junior Class

Junior year marks the time when many students begin to seriously contemplate their post-graduation plans, and the Alumni Association has resources ready. Through the Alumni Association Directory, students can browse alumni who have opted to be contacted by students. Connecting with and reaching out to our alumni is an excellent way to gain insight about a specific career path or field of work.

All juniors can get involved with the Alumni Association through the Student Alumni Association, and the Alumni Career Externship Program and the Reunion Internship Program

Senior Class

Senior year is the pinnacle of the undergraduate academic experience at Washington University. The Alumni Association works very closely with the Senior Class Council to plan a series of events designed to prepare seniors for life after Washington University. The event series is entitled Crossroads. Crossroads features events from alumni networking and financial planning to obtaining advice from some of your favorite professors and administrators. The hallmark Crossroads event is the Senior Class Toast. Typically held 50 days before Commencement, the Senior Class Toast commemorates the accomplishments of the senior class while officially welcoming them into the Alumni Association family.

All seniors can get involved with the Alumni Association through the Student Alumni Association, the Alumni Career Externship Program and the Senior Class Gift Program.
