​Dear APAP member,

Welcome to the 2021-22 APAP season!  My name is Chair Name(s), and I/we am/are the APAP Committee Name APAP committee chair(s).

APAP Volunteer Portal:
We utilize the APAP Volunteer Portal to manage all interview assignments (for alumni interviewers).  The Portal is also where you can update your contact information and volunteer preferences.  In order to login to the Portal, you will need a WUSTL key and password. If you need help retrieving or setting up your WUSTL key, please contact APAP.

Alumni interviewers:
All APAP interviews will be conducted virtually this season.  When I/we assign an interview to you, you will receive an email (from apap@wustl.edu) that instructs you to log in to the Portal to accept or decline the interview within one week of receiving it.  If you decline the interview, I/we will be notified and can reassign the interview to another member on our committee.  Before accepting an interview, please review How to Conduct an APAP Interview, as it contains updated and important information about conducting interviews this year.

Parent members:
Though you will not conduct interviews, there are many activities in which you may participate, including Congratulations Calling Program, Parent to Parent Calling, and the Parents Resource List.  You will receive more details about these opportunities and others as they occur.

Training materials:
In order to access all of APAP’s training materials in the Member Resources section of the APAP website, you will need your WUSTL key and password.  APAP will also send monthly newsletters by email with important deadlines, updates, and news from campus.

Volunteer recruitment email template from chairs to WashU alumni

My name is [NAME] and I am the chair of the [CITY] WashU Alumni and Parents Admission Program (APAP) committee. We help the undergraduate admissions office, recruit, interview, enroll, and welcome students from our area. We are always looking for new volunteers and I invite you to join us.  The time commitment can be whatever works for you, and most interviews can be scheduled at your convenience or even virtually. Joining our committee simply means that you are agreeing to receive emails about volunteer opportunities. Volunteering with APAP is an easy way to give back to WashU, and it’s fun to meet applicants, as well as network with fellow alumni.
