The WashU Government and Public Policy Network is for all alumni, parents, and students in all areas of government and public policy including Nonprofit, Government Agencies/Executive Branch, Congress/Legislative Branch, Think Tanks/Research Institutions, Consulting/Government Relations Firms, Journalism/Media, etc.

Network Goals

• Utilize the networks of our alumni and parent population, campus partners, career center, and schools
• Build relationships within industry companies
• Mentor students and alumni
• Expand opportunities for internships and employment for current students and young alumni
• Offer professional development opportunities
• Highlight alumni and parent businesses/ventures and recognize leaders in the industry

Expand your Network​

Join the WashU Government and Public Policy Network LinkedIn Group–an online networking and resource group that brings together alumni, students, parents, staff, and faculty to network, explore, discuss trends, and share technology, business, and market information in all areas of Government and Public Policy​.

Update your Information–To allow the university to keep you informed of the latest Washington University news, advancements and alumni events, we encourage you to keep your address, phone number, and email address updated in our records. 

Alumni Directory​ (login required)–
Your alumni profile lets you share information about yourself with other WashU alumni. By editing your profile, you can control which personal details (if any) other alumni and students are able to see.

Attend an​ ​Event

Networks often host career networking and professional development events during which alumni and parents can make new connections and explore career interests. The WashU Government and Public Policy Network is currently offering events in Washington, D.C.  Check out the Events Calendar for opportunities near you.

Volunteers are vital to the success of the Government and Public Policy Network. There are many ways in which you can share your knowledge and experience with others—and help support alumni, current students, and the WashU community. The Network is seeking volunteers for the following roles:
  • Plan and/or host Network events
  • Provide career support to students and young alumni by offering internships, assisting with mock interviews and resume review, and serving as a mentor
  • Share expertise and advice by speaking at an event
