Reunion at Thurtene Carnival will be packed with events on campus and around St. Louis, but there are a few signature Reunion experiences you won’t want to miss, like the Welcome Back Party, the Alumni BBQ on the East End of Danforth Campus, and your Class of 2000 Party! Join the Class of 2000 for an unforgettable evening at the swanky and stylish Boo Cat Club. Located midway between the Central West End and Delmar Loop, the Boo Cat Club blends its unique historic charm with a modern sensibility. Share memories of your days spent at WashU with your classmates while enjoying dinner, drinks, music, and great conversation.

Welcome back party
Friday, april 4
6-9 p.m.

Kick off the weekend at the Welcome Back Party. If being back on WashU’s campus isn’t exciting enough, get ready for an evening event lit with glowing lights, a live band, and fun photo opportunities! Your classmates cannot wait to see you! Enjoy heavy appetizers, beer, wine, and soda while catching up with old friends.

11:30 A.M.-1:30 p.m.

Join classmates and their families at the new Tisch Park for a fun-filled afternoon of great BBQ catered by the award-winning Pappy’s Smokehouse. Complimentary beer, wine, and soda will be provided. Enjoy children’s activities and entertainment throughout the event.

Reminisce on your reunion weekend, bid “until we meet again” to your classmates, and enjoy an all-you-care-to-eat brunch.

Saturday Night Class After-Party

The Class of 2000 reunion committee invites 25th reunion celebrants to join classmates at Blueberry Hill following Saturday night’s Class Party. Join for a night cap, to reconnect with friends, great conversation, or simply to extend the fun. Classmates will gather for an informal meet-up immediately following the Class Party. No need to register. Just attend. Cash bar.

Tracee (Orlove) Fruman, AB ’00, was appointed as an administrative law judge for the Maryland Office of Administrative Hearings.

Deborah Levine, AB ’00, associate professor of health policy and management at Providence College, earned its 2019–20 Joseph R. Accinno Faculty Teaching Award. 

Kristen Johnson, AB ’00, joined the Arizona Department of Water Resources as manager of the Colorado River Section in the Water Planning and Permitting Division.

Paul Gassett, PMBA ’00, joined the leadership team at Obata Marketing and Design in St. Louis as vice president.

Fischer: a sensation on the court, in class and in the community
Just in the last few weeks Alia Fischer has won a third straight NCAA Division III Player of the Year trophy; the Jostens Trophy, recognizing the outstanding student-athlete in Division III
basketball; the GTE Academic All-American of the Year Award for eminence in athletics, academics and community service; and, most recently, a coveted NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship.

Civil rights leader Julian Bond to deliver Commencement address
Julian Bond, chairman of the board of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, has been on the cutting edge of social change for 40 years as an activist who faced jail for his convictions.

Designer’s Creations: A Labor of Love
When Cheree Berry, BFA ’00, married Jeff York, MBA ’04, JD ’04, in ­September 2008, she put her unique stamp on the affair. Berry, founder of Cheree Berry Paper, loved “coming up with my own design and aesthetic” full of “surprise ­elements, color and whimsy.” After working on other people’s weddings, “It was a great exercise to go through my own,” she adds.
