Reunion at Thurtene Carnival will be packed with events on campus and around St. Louis, but there are a few signature Reunion experiences you won’t want to miss, like the Welcome Back Party, the Alumni BBQ on the East End of Danforth Campus, and your Class of 2005 Party! We’re busy working on a full schedule, so check back in early 2025 to read about all of the receptions, tours, and events we have planned.

Raise a glass with the Class of 2005 at La Verona on The Hill. This charming space is a gorgeous addition to the beloved St. Louis neighborhood, introducing new night life options while preserving its unique history. Enjoy an elegant evening reminiscing with old friends over gourmet food, an open bar, nostalgic tunes, and fun photo opportunities.

Welcome back party
Friday, april 4
6-9 p.m.

Kick off the weekend at the Welcome Back Party. If being back on WashU’s campus isn’t exciting enough, get ready for an evening event lit with glowing lights, a live band, and fun photo opportunities! Your classmates cannot wait to see you! Enjoy heavy appetizers, beer, wine, and soda while catching up with old friends.

11:30 A.M.-1:30 p.m.

Join classmates and their families at the new Tisch Park for a fun-filled afternoon of great BBQ catered by the award-winning Pappy’s Smokehouse. Complimentary beer, wine, and soda will be provided. Enjoy children’s activities and entertainment throughout the event.

Kathryn Zuckerman, AB ’05, is executive director at CBS News, overseeing the planning and strategy of special programming.

Danielle Borrin Hertz, AB ’05, was appointed to be a member of the United States Holocaust Memorial Council, the governing board of trustees of the museum.

Keith Beutler, MA ’05, penned George Washington’s Hair: How Early Americans Remembered the Founders (University of Virginia Press, November 2021).

Shannon Puopolo, AB ’05, a stockholder in Henderson, Franklin, Starnes & Holt, P.A., was honored by Business Observer magazine, which named her to its 40 Under 40 list.

Siteman advances to NCI comprehensive status
The Siteman Cancer Center has joined the highest-ranking cancer research and treatment institutions with a designation by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) as a Comprehensive
Cancer Center.

Songwriter Sean Douglas’ job is just like yours — except his office is the recording studio. And his co-workers are stars like Jason Derulo and David Guetta. Douglas, AB ’05, who graduated with a degree in anthropology, is on a hot streak. His hits include “Talk Dirty” and ­“Wiggle,” performed by Derulo; “Hey Mama,” performed by Guetta and Nicki Minaj; “Heart Attack,” performed by Demi Lovato; and “Levels,” performed by Nick Jonas.
